Contrast in complex images
Contrast in complex images is a scholarly work by Eli Peli, published in 1990 in ''Journal of the Optical Society of America''. The main subjects of the publication include mathematics, contrast, optics, computer science, color constancy, artificial intelligence, Automatic target recognition, spatial frequency, image editing, luminance, computer vision, and image. The physical contrast of simple images such as sinusoidal gratings or a single patch of light on a uniform background is well defined and agrees with the perceived contrast, but this is not so for complex images.
