Chinese Annals of History of Science and Technology
Chinese Annals of History of Science and Technology is an international peer-reviewed biannual academic journal focusing on the history of science and history of technology. The journal has an international editorial board, is published in English by the Institute for the History of Natural Sciences of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and the Science Press.
Description
The journal has been published twice a year since 2017. Articles on the history of science and technology related to China are published in English.The journal is supported by the Institute for the History of Natural Sciences CAS and Science Press. It is the first academic English-language journal on the history of science and technology founded in the PRC.
CAHST publishes research from diverse perspectives and approaches, especially interdisciplinary studies, as well as cross-cultural and transnational studies in the history of science and knowledge. The journal features research articles and reviews, including specific studies of original documents and archaeological findings. It also publishes book reviews, review essays on previous research, current debates and controversies on historiography or methodology, and news on the history of science and technology. The journal aims to make each issue thematic, with articles focusing on a more or less homogeneous topic.
Many articles in the journal focus on the connections of scholars with China and issues of Chinese studies.
Journal's aim: To change the situation of China's absence in English-language journals on the history of science and technology and to make the development of the discipline of history of science and technology more robust.
Editorial Board
The journal is led by two editors-in-chief: Zhang Baichun and Jürgen Renn.The editorial board consists of historians of science and technology and Sinologists from various countries.
The editorial advisory board includes international historians of science and technology and Sinologists.
