Carla Staver
Ann Carla Staver is an American researcher and a professor of Ecology at Princeton University. She is known for her research on the ecology of tropical savannas and forests
Education and career
Staver had her undergraduate education at Columbia University where she obtained a B.A in Ecology, Evolution and Environmental Biology in 2005. She then pursued a Master of Science degree in Botany at the University of Cape Town. She went on to complete her doctoral studies at Princeton University where she was awarded a Ph.D. in Ecology and Environmental Biology in 2012.Following the completion of her doctoral studies, she became a Prize Postdoctoral Fellow at Columbia University before joining Yale University in 2014 where she was promoted to full professor in 2024. In 2020, she testified to the US House of Representatives Natural Resource Committee. In July 2025 Staver moved to Princeton University.
