Bena Di Senior


Radeem Haslam, professionally known as Bena Di Senior or commonly as Di Senior, is a Jamaican record producer and entrepreneur based in Kingston, Jamaica.

Biography

Early life and career

Haslam was raised in Kingston, Jamaica, and attended Kingston Technical High School. In the 11th grade, Haslam took a computer studies class and began making beats on his computer, considering music production as a career. Haslam began promoting his work through social networking websites and local events.
In 2009, he met the CEO of Icon Music Group, a producer responsible for songs by Vybz Kartel and Mavado. The CEO introduced Haslam to the music industry. Haslam released his first solo record with Alliance Next Generation artist Kalado in late 2009 on a riddim he produced himself.

Production style

Haslam has stated in radio interviews and online blogs that he is influenced by songwriters such as Stevie Wonder for their instrumentation. He also stated that he draws inspiration from producers such as Di Genius, Timbaland, Young Chop, Mike Will, Lex Lugar, and The Neptunes for their styles.
Regarding equipment, Haslam stated that he started out producing with a single MPC drum machine but has since moved on to multiple MPCs, keyboards, and a variety of audio editing programs, including Pro Tools, Reason, and FL Studio.

Career highlights

Cjking Entertainment featured Haslam on their website for two consecutive weeks due to the distinct production style of his riddims. In 2011, Haslam launched his official website, which he designed himself. His studio, Bena Production, has also created music that went No. 1 on YarkLink254. Bena Production composed a single "Badness Inna We Longtime".

2014–present: ''Bad Dawgs Riddim''

On 12 April 2014, Haslam released Bad Dawgs Riddim, which he produced, featuring Denno, Ding Dong, Kalado, Strent, and Versatile.
