As of the 2020 census, Aurora had a population of 1,390 and a median age of 40.6 years; 27.0% of residents were under the age of 18 and 14.4% were 65 years of age or older. For every 100 females there were 101.2 males, and for every 100 females age 18 and over there were 98.6 males. There were 356 families residing in the city.There were 465 households in Aurora, of which 36.8% had children under the age of 18 living in them. Of all households, 68.0% were married-couple households, 12.3% were households with a male householder and no spouse or partner present, and 14.0% were households with a female householder and no spouse or partner present. About 15.7% of all households were made up of individuals and 6.5% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older.
