Ansar al-Mahdi Protection Corps


Ansar al-Mahdi Protection Corps are a military unit of Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps.

History

It was founded in 1989 after the split of Ansar al-Imam and Vali-ye Amr special forces unit.
The Mossad allegedly hired members of the unit to carry out the Assassination of Ismail Haniyeh.

Commanders

Their current commander is Fathollah Jamiri.
One of its former commanders was Ali Nasiri.

Provincial Corps

Zanjan Ansar Al-Mahdi Provincial Corps

On 14 June 2025, it was the forces of Zanjan province in the Iran–Israel war who declared the death of five of his fighters named after Commander Reza Najafi, Hassan Rasouli, Hamid Tomari, Akbar Azizi, and Amir Khani.
