34th Rifle Corps


The 34th Rifle Corps was a corps of the Soviet Red Army. It was part of the 19th [Army (Soviet Union)|19th Army]. Towards the end of the 1939-40 Winter War with Finland it took part in General Semyon Timoshenko's offensive in the Karelian Isthmus. It took part in the Great Patriotic War. It was only partially mobilised by late July 1941 when it was fed piecemeal into combat against invading German forces at Vitebsk.
