2026 Chinese Super League
The 2026 Chinese Super League, also known as the 2026 China Resources Beverage Chinese Football Super League for sponsorship reasons, will be the 23rd season since the establishment of the Chinese Super League.
Summary
in 2022, Chinese Communist Party officials launched an anti-corruption probe resulting in eight footballing officials being investigated for "suspected of violations of discipline and law". In August 2024, former CCP Committee Secretary of the Chinese Football Association, Du Zhaocai, pleaded guilty to accepting more than US$6.1 million in bribes. On 10 September, CFA banned 38 players, including former nationals, Jin Jingdao, Guo Tianyu, and five officials for life over allegations of match-fixing and other forms of corruption. Other players and officials were also given shorter five years bans. Nine Chinese Super League clubs were also punished with point deductions for the 2026 Chinese Super League and fines.Shanghai Shenhua and Tianjin Jinmen Tigers were docked ten points and fined 1 million yuan. Qingdao Hainiu was docked seven points. Shandong Taishan and Henan were docked six points each. Beijing Guoan, Shanghai Port, Wuhan Three Towns and Zhejiang were docked five points each.
Teams
Sixteen teams competed in the league – the top fourteen teams from the previous season and the two teams promoted from the China League One. The promoted teams were Liaoning Tieren and Chongqing Tonglianglong. Liaoning Tieren and Chongqing Tonglianglong were both promoted to the Chinese Super League for the first time in their history.They replaced Meizhou Hakka and Changchun Yatai. Both teams were relegated after three years in the Super League with Changchun Yatai being relegated to China League One the second time.
