2020 Delhi Legislative Assembly election


Legislative Assembly elections were held in Delhi on 8 February 2020 to elect 70 members of the Delhi Legislative Assembly. Voters turnout was recorded at 62.82%, a decline of 4.65% from the previous 2015 [Delhi Legislative Assembly election|assembly election in Delhi] but 2.2% more than the 2019 Indian general election in Delhi. The term of the assembly elected in 2015 expired on 22 February 2020. The Aam Aadmi Party, led by Arvind Kejriwal won 62 seats to claim an absolute majority in the elections.

Background

The 2015 [Delhi Legislative Assembly election|previous Assembly elections] were held in February 2015. After the election, the Aam Aadmi Party formed the state government, with Arvind Kejriwal becoming Chief Minister.

Exit Polls

The exit polls were announced by agencies after the poll ends on 8 February 2020. The exit polls were conducted on all 70 seats of Delhi Legislative Assembly and data was collected up to 4:00 PM. The voting ended at 6:00 PM officially.

Third Kejriwal ministry of the Delhi government was formed on 16 February 2020, led by Kejriwal as Delhi's chief minister for a third time at Ramlila Maidan.
