2009 Liechtenstein general election
General elections were held in Liechtenstein on 8 February 2009 to elect the 25 members of the Landtag. The Patriotic Union won a majority of thirteen seats, with the Progressive Citizens' Party winning eleven. The Free List won one seat. Voter turnout was 86.6%.
Incumbent Prime Minister Otmar Hasler sought re-election for a third term, and was re-nominated by the FBP on 4 October 2008. Incumbent deputy prime minister Klaus Tschütscher was re-nominated as the party's candidate for prime minister. Following the election, Hasler resigned and the two parties entered into a renewed coalition government under Tschütscher.
