William Wimble


William James Wimble was an English architect based in London.

Life

He was born on 22 March 1848 in Maidstone, Kent the son of Edward Wimble and Mary Margaret Wildish. He died on 12 January 1903 at 74 Jermyn Street aged 54 and left an estate of £8,023.

Career

He commenced independent practice in 1873 based at 2 Walbrook, London, and shortly thereafter joined into a partnership with his brother John Wimble. His brother John died in 1877 and William continued the business alone.
His practice was at 9 Queen Victoria Street, London.
In 1887 he was appointed architect and surveyor to the Worshipful Company of Vintners and in 188 he was made a Fellow of the Royal Institute of British Architects.
