Willah Mudolo
Willah Joseph Mudolo is a Zambian businessman, philanthropist, and political figure. He has been associated with ventures in mining, agriculture, and real estate. In Zambia, he is the founder of the National Economic Transformation Party.
Early life and education
Mudolo was born in Mufulira, Zambia. His father, Joseph Mudolo, worked at Mufulira Mine, and his mother, Ruth Nakawala Mudolo, was a grocery store clerk. Mudolo's formal education began at Nsami Primary School in 1987, followed by Mulekatembo Basic School and Isoka Secondary School in Zambia. After secondary school, he earned an Association of Accounting Technicians qualification from the United Kingdom. He then went to acquire an MBA in Finance and Sustainability from the University of Cumbria, an MBA from Heriot-Watt University's Edinburgh Business School, and an MSc in Finance & Accounting from The University of Salford. He also has an Executive Education in Private Equity from London Business School, and an Executive Diploma in Advanced Research from Robert Kennedy College in Switzerland.Career
Mudolo co-founded the African Development Funding Group, where he is President of Global Operations. The group is involved in private equity and fund management, with interests in construction, mining, oil and gas, and consulting. Media reports have credited him with participating in investment mobilization for projects including Egypt's New Administrative Capital. He is a stakeholder in companies such as the African Development Funding Group and the RP Energy Fund.Mudolo was a member of the Patriotic Front in the mid-2000s, though his focus at the time remained on business. In 2020, he founded the National Economic Transformation Party, promoting an economic reform agenda. On 28 August 2025, he announced his intention to contest the presidency in the 2026 Zambian general election. Mudolo has been described as an Honorary Ambassador to the Pan-African Parliament for Energy and Humanitarian Advancement, where he has promoted energy initiatives and humanitarian programmes.
