Wilf NixonWilfred Nixon was an English professional footballer who played in the Football League for Fulham as a goalkeeper.Personal lifeNixon served as a private in the Football Battalion of the Middlesex Regiment during the First World War. He was captured by the Germans in Oppy on 28 April 1917 and was then interned as a prisoner of war. Nixon died at home in Gateshead on 8 April 1985, at the age of 102.
