History
West Wight were founded in [1925 in soccer|football (soccer)|1925] and joined the Isle of Wight League.Steady progress was made, but they had to wait until 1960 for their first piece of silverware, when they won the Isle of Wight Challenge Cup, followed by the Division 1 title a year later.
The eighties saw the club emerge as a force, and after winning the Division 1 title three years running they made a successful application to join the Hampshire League in 1984.
Here they consolidated in Division 3 for two seasons, then were moved up to Division 2 after the competition was restructured. West Wight continued to make good progress and won promotion in 1990. However, they found the top-flight much tougher and were relegated two years later after finishing bottom. Fortunes gradually declined further after this, and after two lowly finishes they dropped out in 1994.
The new millennium saw West Wight re-emerge as a force within the Isle of Wight League, winning the Division 1 title six years running. In 2009 they also won both the Hampshire Intermediate and Isle of Wight Challenge Cups to complete a memorable treble.
In 2025, the club celebrated their centenary.
