Visa requirements for Irish citizens
As of 2025, Irish citizens have visa-free or visa on arrival access to 189 countries and territories, ranking the Irish passport 3rd in the world according to the Henley Passport Index.
Since Brexit and as of 2026, Irish citizens are the only nationality in the world with the right to live and work in both the European Union and the United Kingdom.
