Val-de-Comporté

Val-de-Comporté is a commune in the Vienne department in the Nouvelle-Aquitaine region in western France. It was formed on 1 January 2024, with the merger of Saint-Macoux and Saint-Saviol.

On 1 January 2024, Saint-Macoux and Saint-Saviol merged to create the new commune of Val-de-Comporté.

Geography

The new commune of Val-de-Comporté is located in the south of the Vienne department, on the border of Deux-Sèvres, in the small agricultural region of "Terres rouge à châtaigniers". It is located from Poitiers, prefecture of the department, from Montmorillon, the sub-prefecture, and from Civray, capital of the eponymous canton on which the commune depends. since its creation.
