Trudy Turner
Trudy Turner is a Distinguished Professor Emeritus at the University of Wisconsin–Milwaukee and the editor-in-chief of the American Journal of Physical Anthropology. She is known for her work on vervet monkeys, ethics in research, and women in biological anthropology.
Education and career
Turner has a B.A. from Northwestern University, and earned her M.A. and Ph.D. from New York University. She conducted her postdoctoral work at the University of Michigan Medical School, and then moved to the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee in 1987 and was promoted to professor in 1998. As of 2024 she is a Distinguished Professor Emeritus at the University of Wisconsin–Milwaukee.In 2019 she was named editor-in-chief of the American Journal of Physical Anthropology.
