Trudy Turner
Trudy Turner is a Distinguished Professor Emeritus at the University of Wisconsin–Milwaukee and the editor-in-chief of the American Journal of Physical Anthropology. She is known for her work on vervet monkeys, ethics in research, and women in biological anthropology.
Education and career
Turner has a B.A. from Northwestern University, and earned her M.A. and Ph.D. from New [York University]. She conducted her postdoctoral work at the University of Michigan Medical School, and then moved to the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee in 1987 and was promoted to professor in 1998. As of 2024 she is a Distinguished Professor Emeritus at the University of Wisconsin–Milwaukee.In 2019 she was named editor-in-chief of the American Journal of Physical Anthropology.
