Meeting of Parliament Act 1694


The Meeting of Parliament Act 1694, also known as the Triennial Act 1694, is an Parliament (United Kingdom)|act] of the Parliament of England. This act is Chapter II Rot. Parl. pt. 1. nu. 2.
The act required Parliament to meet annually and to hold general elections once every three years.
, the act is partly in force in England and Wales. The sections of the act still in force require that Parliament hold a session at least once every three years.

Subsequent developments

Sections 3 and 4 of the act were repealed by section 1 of, and the schedule to, the Statute Law Revision [Act 1867].
The whole act was repealed for the Republic of Ireland by of, and to, the Electoral Act 1963.
