The Laskin MootThe Laskin Moot Court Competition, also known as The Laskin Moot, is an annual mooting competition in Canada. It is named after Bora Laskin, the fourteenth Chief Justice of Canada.FormatThe Laskin Moot is unique in Canada as it was originally the only bilingual moot competition in the country, conducted in both of the official languages of English and French. At least one participant of each team must moot in the other language from that used by the other members of the team. The subject of the moot is always in the area of administrative law. The Laskin Moot attracts teams from most of the twenty-three law schools in Canada. It is hosted each year by a different Canadian law school and is held typically in late February or early March.LocationsThe following is a list of law schools that have hosted the Laskin Moot since 1986.YearHost school1986University of Toronto1987University of Toronto1988McGill University 1989Université de Moncton1990University of Ottawa1991University of British Columbia 1992University of New Brunswick 1993Université Laval 1994Dalhousie University 1995University of Toronto1996University of Alberta 1997University of Ottawa1998Université de Montréal1999Université de Moncton2000Queen's University 2001University of Saskatchewan 2002Université Laval 2003Osgoode Hall 2004University of British Columbia 2005Université de Sherbrooke2006Dalhousie University 2007University of Ottawa2008University of Manitoba 2009University of Western Ontario 2010McGill University 2011University of Ottawa2012Université de Moncton2013University of Alberta 2014University of New Brunswick 2015Université de Montréal2016University of British Columbia 2017University of Ottawa2018University of Toronto2019University of Manitoba 2020Université Laval 2023Dalhousie University
