"The Fabulous Money Maker" is a 1959 British television play about Ivar Kreuger, the Swedish match king of the 1920s, who was played by Ronald Lewis.
The play was commissioned and Yolande Turner played a composite character.

Reception

The Daily Telegraph called it "a perfect Sunday night play."
Variety felt the writer "didn't exactly soar triumphant" but thought Lewis "acted extraordinary well in the key role."

Controversy

After watching the television play, which ends with Kreuger committing suicide, a 19 year old man then killed himself using the same technique.
