The Cross at the Crossroads
The 'Cross at the Crossroads', also known as The Cross, is a tall, 113-foot spanning cross in Effingham, Illinois. It was built in 2001 after its creator was inspired by a similar cross in Groom, Texas. The Cross is taller than its Groom counterpart, but was intentionally kept below 200 feet to avoid having to comply with an FAA regulation that would require a light on top of the structure.
