Tamiliam Subas


Tamiliam Subas is a Norwegian-Tamil filmmaker known for his work on short films that explore Eelam Tamil identity, war experiences, and diaspora perspectives.

Career

In 2009, Subas wrote, directed, and produced the short film Vanni Mouse, which follows the journey of two mice that end up in an internment camp in Vavuniya, Sri Lanka, witnessing the tragedies faced by civilians. The film received critical acclaim and won the Best Fiction Award at the 11th International Short and Independent Film Festival in Dhaka in 2010. It was also recognized at various other film festivals.
His subsequent short film, Can I Have a Dream?, further delved into themes pertinent to the Tamil diaspora.
