List of tallest buildings by U.S. state and territory
The following is a list of the tallest buildings by U.S. state and territory, based on standard height measurement. This includes spires and architectural details but does not include antenna masts. The "Year" column indicates the year in which a building was completed. Forty are in their state's largest city, and 18 are in their capital city. The tallest building in the U.S. by architectural height is currently One World Trade Center in New York, which is approximately —more than the combined heights of the tallest buildings in Wyoming, Vermont, Maine, South Dakota, Montana, North Dakota, New Hampshire, and West Virginia. Many are attributed to banks: three to JPMorgan Chase and U.S. Bancorp, and two to Wells Fargo and Bank of America.
