Sunnyside–Tahoe City is a census-designated place in Placer County, California, located on the northwest shore of Lake Tahoe. The population was 1,555 at the 2020 census, down from 1,557 at the 2010 census, and its land area is. It includes the two communities, Sunnyside, and Tahoe City.

The 2020 United States census reported that Sunnyside-Tahoe City had a population of 1,555. The population density was. The racial makeup of the CDP was 1,365 White, 1 African American, 5 Native American, 21 Asian, 1 Pacific Islander, 54 from other races, and 108 from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 115 persons.
The whole population lived in households. There were 725 households, out of which 135 had children under the age of 18 living in them, 305 were married-couple households, 69 were cohabiting couple households, 132 had a female householder with no partner present, and 219 had a male householder with no partner present. 245 households were one person, and 67 were one person aged 65 or older. The average household size was 2.14. There were 398 families.
The age distribution was 235 people under the age of 18, 71 people aged 18 to 24, 471 people aged 25 to 44, 480 people aged 45 to 64, and 298 people who were 65years of age or older. The median age was 45.0years. For every 100 females, there were 112.1 males.
There were 2,354 housing units at an average density of, of which 725 were occupied. Of these, 433 were owner-occupied, and 292 were occupied by renters.

The racial makeup of Sunnyside–Tahoe City was 1,480 White, 3 African American, 4 Native American, 15 Asian, 1 Pacific Islander, 32 from other races, and 22 from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 84 persons.
The Census reported that 1,550 people lived in households, 7 lived in non-institutionalized group quarters, and 0 were institutionalized.
There were 744 households, out of which 120 had children under the age of 18 living in them, 268 were opposite-sex married couples living together, 29 had a female householder with no husband present, 24 had a male householder with no wife present. There were 84 unmarried opposite-sex partnerships, and 5 same-sex married couples or partnerships. 255 households were made up of individuals, and 40 had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.08. There were 321 families ; the average family size was 2.64.
