Stonydelph
Stonydelph is a suburban neighbourhood and electoral ward about south east of the centre of Tamworth in Staffordshire, England. At the 2021 census, the population of the ward was 7,626.
A spelling of "Stoneydelph" is sometimes used but the OS map of 1888 shows "Stonydelph Farm" as the only building in this area. Much of the area is based around a road named "Pennine Way".
Stonydelph ward elects three members to Tamworth Borough Council and one member to Staffordshire County Council.
Transport
As of 2024, there are three bus routes operating in the area, all operated by Arriva.For train access, the nearest station is Wilnecote railway station, served by CrossCountry, followed by Polesworth railway station, served by Avanti West Coast and West Midlands Trains, then Tamworth railway station, serving as an interchange between CrossCountry, West Midlands Trains and Avanti West Coast.
In Stoneydelph, the major road is called Pennine Way, which runs from a roundabout in the north down to a junction where you can either merge with the A5 or drive to Centurion Park and Wilnecote. There are many horseshoe-shaped roads that sprout off from Pennine Way. These are called Pennymoor Road, Malham Road, Fossdale Road and Crowden Road, with one road sprouting not from Pennine Way, but rather Glascote Road, being Chiltern Road.
