Stierbergsteich
The Stierbergsteich in the Harz Mountains of central Germany is a storage pond near Rothesütte on the boundary of the counties of Harz and Nordhausen.
Location
The Stierbergsteich lies in the South Harz on the boundary of the nature parks of Harz and South Harz between Trautenstein to the north-northeast, Rothesütte to the southwest and Sophienhof to the east-southeast. The pond is located between the Buchenköpfe peaks and the Stierberg to the east-northeast at an elevation of about. It is fed and drained by a small tributary of the Rappbode tributary, the Dammbach.The border between the kingdoms of Prussia and Hanover used to run past the pond along what is now the border between Saxony-Anhalt and Thuringia.
