Steve Mott


Walter Stephen Mott III is an American former professional football player who was a center in the National Football League. He was selected by the Detroit Lions in the fifth round of the 1983 NFL draft, and he played for the team from 1983 to 1988. He played college football for the Alabama Crimson Tide. Mott was Coach Paul "Bear" Bryant's last captain. In 2009, two commemorative rings from his college football career were stolen but later recovered from a pawn shop after the arrest of some burglary suspects.
