Stefan Andres
Stefan Paul Andres was a German novelist.
As the Nazi regime flexed its power, Andres moved away to Italy in 1937, returning to Germany 13 years later. He was a widely read German writer in the post-World War II period. His most famous works are the novellas El Greco Paints the Grand Inquisitor and We Are Utopia.
He was nominated for the Nobel Prize in Literature.
