The St. Joseph Metropolitan Statistical Area, as defined by the United States Census Bureau, is an area consisting of four counties - three in northwest Missouri and one in northeast Kansas - anchored by the city of St. Joseph, comprising a total area of. As of the 2020 census, the MSA had a population of 121,467. It is part of the wider Kansas City-Overland Park-Kansas City, MO-KS CSA.
