Sri Petaling LRT station

Sri Petaling LRT station is a Sri Petaling Line rapid transit station in Sri Petaling, a suburb about 20 km south of Kuala Lumpur, the capital of Malaysia. Opened in 11 July 1998, the station is among the first 7 of 11 stops of the STAR LRT Phase 2 project to begin operation, extending the original Phase 1 route south from the Chan Sow Lin interchange with a new branching line terminating at Sri Petaling station.
Like the neighboring Bukit Jalil station, the Sri Petaling station was planned in preparation for and opened in commemoration of the Commonwealth Games. Originally branded as Komanwel station, the station served as the rail connection between the 1998 Commonwealth Games Athletes Village and the National Sports Complex via Sukan Negara station.
Under Rapid Rail's management, the Sri Petaling terminus would serve as the namesake for the renamed branch line in 2005, in a similar fashion to the Ampang terminus for the Ampang Line. The station remained as the southern terminus for passenger services on the line until 31 October 2015, when the Sri Petaling line extension designated Putra Heights station as the new terminus.
In addition to Vista Komanwel, the IMU University is within walking distance of the station.
