Scott, Indiana


Scott is a small unincorporated community in Van [Buren Township, LaGrange County, Indiana|Van Buren Township], LaGrange County, Indiana.

History

Scott, originally called Van Buren, was platted in 1833. A post office called Scott opened in 1837, and remained in operation until it was discontinued in 1905.

Geography

Scott is located on the Pigeon River (St. [Joseph River)|Pigeon River] near the Indiana Toll Road, just about a mile south of the state border with Michigan.

Demographics

The United States Census Bureau defined Scott as a census designated place in the 2022 American Community Survey.
