SCMS School of Engineering and Technology


The SCMS School of Engineering and Technology is a private engineering college located in Karukutty, Ernakulam district, Kerala, India. Established in 2001, the college is part of the SCMS Group of Educational Institutions. It offers undergraduate and postgraduate programs in engineering and computer applications. SSET is affiliated with APJ Abdul Kalam Technological University and is approved by the All India Council for Technical Education, Government of India.

About

SSET was founded under the SCMS Group of Educational Institutions, which manages institutions including SCMS Cochin School of Business. The engineering college was established to provide technical education in various engineering disciplines within Kerala. Administrative and academic guidance to the institution is provided by the SCMS Group’s management school, SCMS Cochin School of Business, which is accredited by AICTE and ISO 9001 certified. The college has received grants and support from the AICTE for academic development projects.

Recognition and affiliation

The SSET is recognized by the All India Council for Technical Education, Govt. of India vide their letter No... 770-54-023/ET/2001 dated 27 June 2001. The Mahatma Gandhi University granted affiliation in accordance with the G.O.No. 88/2001/H.Edn. dated 21 July 2001.

Departments

The college has the following departments:
SSET has an intake capacity of 60 students in each branch. Mechanical Engineering, Electronics and Communication Engineering, Civil Engineering branches have two batches with 120 seats. With a total sanctioned intake capacity of 540 students in six branches SSET is the second largest engineering college set up under the self-financing scheme in Kerala.

Campus

The SCMS School of Engineering and Technology is located on a 27-acre campus at Karukutty in Ernakulam district, Kerala. The campus includes academic and administrative buildings, laboratories, workshops, a central library, and hostel facilities for students. The library holds a collection of books and journals and provides access to digital learning resources. The institution also has an auditorium, cafeteria, and sports facilities. The SCMS School of Architecture functions within the same campus.
