Sault Ste. Marie station


Sault Ste. Marie station in Sault Ste Marie, Ontario, Canada is a railway station which acts as the terminus for the Algoma Central Railway train service. The Algoma Central Railway is a subsidiary of Canadian National Railway.
The original Sault Ste. Marie station was at Algoma Central Railway head office at 289 Bay Street built in 1912 and now a commercial office building co located with Station Mall. In the 1970s the station moved to the single floor building at 129 Bay Street and in the parking lot on the west end of Station Mall. Regular service to Hearst ended in July 2015. The 129 Bay Street station was closed in 2021 when it moved to 87 Huron Street in a train station like structure built at the former St Mary’s Paper mill.
