Rukwa languages

The Rukwa languages are a group of Bantu languages established by Nurse and Fourshey. They constitute half of Guthrie's Zone M, plus Bungu.

Languages

The languages, or clusters, along with their Guthrie identifications, are:

Rungwe : Nyakyusa–Ngonde, Ndali
Mbozi
*Mbeya
**Bungu
**Safwa
**South Mbeya : Malila; Lambya–Sukwa, Nyiha
*Mwika
**Nyika
**North Mwika : Pimbwe, Rungwa
**Plateau Mwika:
***Fipa
***South: Wanda, Namwanga–Iwa–Tambo, Mambwe-Lungu

Nurse had established a more limited Mbozi, without Pimbwe or Bungu, and with the addition of Rungwe tentative.
Maho adds Penja, to M30, and Kulwe as closest to Fipa.
