Ross Zucco

Ross Barta Zucco was an American speed skater. Ross trained at Iceland in Paramount CA in, what was then simply called "indoor speed skating." Later it would be know as Short Track Speed Skating. What was remarkable is that he was able to transfer that skill to skating on a much larger outdoor track and qualified to compete in the Speed skating at the [1960 Winter Olympics – Men's 10,000 metres|10,000 m event] at the 1960 [Winter Olympics] and finished in 10th place. A few months later he was killed in a car accident by a 16-year-old drunk driver.
