Production
The film is the second film of the filmmaker Lee Yong-seung, who is known for his first film 10 Minutes which was a big hit and earned several prizes at the Busan International Film Festival.First script reading took place on December 22, 2016. Filming began on January 2, 2017 and ended on February 23.
Release
Room No.7 unveiled at the Cannes Film Festival on May 18, 2017 and had its world premiere at the 21st Bucheon International Fantastic Film Festival on July 13, 2017.The film was released in local cinemas on November 15, 2017 and debuted at No. 1 among the Korean films.
