Reed, Vestland


Reed or Re is a village in Gloppen Municipality in Vestland county, Norway. The village is located on the eastern shore of the lake Breimsvatnet, along the European route E39 highway, about west of the village of Byrkjelo and about southeast of the municipal centre of Sandane.
The village had a population of 389 and a population density of. Since 2023, the population and area data for this village area has not been separately tracked by Statistics Norway.

History

Re was the administrative centre of the old Breim Municipality which existed from 1886 to 1964. Breim Church and Reed School are both located in the village.
