Randawi Tavantang
Randawi Tavantang Kaamatan or Mister Kaamatan is a male beauty pageant held annually during the Kaamatan cultural event in Sabah, Malaysia. The pageant competition was originally held between different districts in Sabah and has since been expanded between different states and federal territories of Malaysia. Currently, the pageant is contested between tanak wagu, ralaa and sumuni/suni from each of participating Sabah's districts and territory as well as Kadazan Dusun Cultural Association branches outside Sabah who registered.
The event was officially recognized on 17 May 2025 under the Sabah State Kaamatan Festival Main Committee.
History
Starting in 2025, the event name Buvazoi Tavantang Kaamatan or Mister Kaamatan was officially changed to Randawi Tavantang Kaamatan or Mister Kaamatan This rebranding is not just a name change, but symbolizes a shift in meaning, so that this competition continues to be honored, given new life and remains relevant in the Kaamatan celebration. Mister Kaamatan symbolizes the heroism of the KDMR cultural fighters in fighting for the state of Sabah. In this modern era, Mister Kaamatan symbolizes the leadership of Huguan Siou means the "brave leader", a courageous leader in defending KDMR culture in Sabah.
2023 is the first time that Buvazoi Tavantang Kaamatan has been held in the main hall of the KDCA, after 16 years of competition.
