The racial makeup of Rancho San Diego was 74.9% White, 3.4% African American, 0.7% Native American, 4.2% Asian, 0.3% Pacific Islander, 5.2% from other races, and 11.3% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 16.4% of the population.The census reported that 99.5% of the population lived in households, 0.4% lived in non-institutionalized group quarters, and 0.1% were institutionalized.
