History
Rajshahi Polytechnic Institute is an ancient government multipurpose engineering educational institute in Rajshahi, Bangladesh. Established in 1963, it conducts a four-year Diploma in Engineering course under the Bangladesh Technical Education Board.In 1963, Rajshahi Polytechnic Institute was established for engineering education at a cost of 18 lakh Takas on 15 acres of land at Sopura in Rajshahi. Mr. Badrul Huda was appointed as the first principal.
Infrastructure
Rajshahi Polytechnic Institute campus is spread over a vast area with 7 buildings. There are 2 hostels for boys and 1 hostel for girls.
Educational activities
Currently, a 4-year Diploma in Engineering course is running under the Bangladesh Board of Technical Education. Besides technical education, there is a non-technical education department that teaches Bengali, English, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Management, and Social Science subjects for the essential development of every technology student. Students are taught in two shifts, morning and afternoon.
