Rafael Domingo Osle
Rafael Domingo Oslé is a Spanish legal historian and professor of law. He currently serves as the Spruill Family Professor of Law and Religion at Emory University and is a Professor of Law at the University of Navarra.
Education and Career
Domingo earned his doctorate in law from the University of Navarra and conducted research as a Humboldt fellow at Ludwig Maximilian University of Munich.He began his teaching career at the University of Cantabria before joining the University of Navarra, where he served as Dean of the Law School from 1996 to 1999. Since 2012, his research has focused on the intersection of global law and religion, holding senior fellowships at both Emory University and the University of Navarra.
Legal Philosophy
Domingo's scholarship focuses on Roman law, comparative law, and the development of a "global law" framework. He has advocated for a legal system that addresses global crises through a lens of justice that transcends national boundaries. He also explores theistic and secular legal systems, proposing a model that protects both religious and non-religious viewpoints within a secular framework.Honors and awards
