Radio Damascus

Radio Damascus, is the national radio station of Syrian state broadcaster GART. It broadcasts Arabic-language programs nationwide on medium wave and FM frequencies. Programs in Arabic, English, French, German, Hebrew, Russian, Spanish and Turkish were broadcast via webstream.
The programmes of Radio Damascus were focused on praising the policy of the Syrian ba'athist government of the Assad family until 2024.
Historically, Radio Damascus were transmitting for an international audience from 1957 to 2013, mainly on medium wave and shortwave frequencies. Radio Damascus was transmitted via the Russian satellite Ekspress-AM22.
Following the fall of the Assad regime, Radio Damascus ceased broadcasting. Under the authority of the Syrian transitional government, the station is scheduled to relaunch on 4 February 2026.
