Max Deml
Max 'Deml' is a German-Austrian journalist, publisher, and entrepreneur. He is also known for his work on sustainable investment strategies.
Since October 1991, he has been editor-in-chief of Ökoinvest, a bi-weekly German-language stock market newsletter that focuses on green investments and renewable energies such as solar power. He has developed green investment funds, including the, which was founded in 2003.
Career
Deml studied psychology, philosophy, and political science in Regensburg, Germany before continuing his studies in Vienna, Austria.Deml founded Öko-Invest Publishing Ltd. in June 1991 after dropping out of the University of Regensburg. He co-founded companies including BioArt AG, Fair Finance Holding AG, Grassmugg AG, GreenTec Invest AG, and Prodigium Pictures. He also serves on the Environmental Advisory Board of Oeco Capital Life Insurance in Germany and as a member of the fund committee for the Worldwide Fund of Nature Austria. Since 1990, he has co-authored the handbook Grünes Geld.
In 2020, he received the 2020 Austrian SDG Award in the media category, a national award in Austria issued by the Austrian National Parliament in partnership with the United Nations Department of Economic and Social Affairs.
Since 2012, Deml has performed in a German stand-up comedy program titled "Grünes Geld und Frische Blüten — ein Crashkurs".
