Princess Condrokirono
Gusti Kanjeng Ratu Condrokirono is daughter of Sultan Hamengkubuwono X of Yogyakarta and his consort, Ratu Hemas.
Early life and education
In her childhood, Nurmagupita lived with her parents and siblings in a region far from the royal palace, specifically in Kaliurang, Pakem, Sleman Regency.During the late 1970s to early 1980s, when her father became increasingly busy with royal duties and her mother began to engage in politics, the family, along with some royal relatives, decided to move to the residential complex of Pabrik Gula Madukismo in Kasihan, Bantul Regency. During this period, her mother gave birth to two younger siblings, Nurabra Juwita and Nurastuti Wijareni. In February 1988, Nurmagupita and her family left Madukismo and settled at the Keraton Ngayogyakarta Hadiningrat. This move coincided with a significant change in the family dynamics: following the death of her grandfather, her father, who had previously been considered the primary heir to the Yogyakarta throne, was crowned as the Sultan of Yogyakarta, while her mother was named the Sultan’s consort in 1989. From that point onward, Nurmagupita grew up and lived as a member of the core royal family of the Yogyakarta Sultanate.
As the daughter of the ruler, Nurmagupita was raised in the palace until her teenage years. After completing her primary and secondary education in Yogyakarta, she received support from her parents to pursue higher education in Australia. Nurmagupita graduated from Charles Sturt University in New South Wales.
Career and roles
Condrokirono holds the position of Penghageng Kawedanan Hageng Panitrapura at the Yogyakarta Palace, a senior administrative office analogous to the palace’s secretariat. In this capacity, she is responsible for managing official communications and correspondence between the palace and external entities. She is also involved in ceremonial duties and regularly represents the royal family in cultural and traditional events.
Personal life
In 1993, Nurmagupita married the rally driver Erry Triawan, who was later titled Kanjeng Raden Tumenggung Suryokusumo. She became the first royal daughter to marry, ahead of her older sister, Nurmalitasari. Their wedding became the first Pernikahan Agung or Dhaup Ageng held by the palace since her father’s coronation as king. After marriage, she adopted the title Gusti Raden Ayu Suryokusumo, in accordance with her husband's name. From this marriage, they had a son, Raden Mas Gustilantika Marrel Suryokusumo, born in 1994.After nearly a decade of marriage, their union ended in divorce in 2007 for reasons that remain unknown. Following the divorce, Nurmagupita continued to use the title Gusti Raden Ayu Suryokusumo until 2008, when her father bestowed upon her a new title during the Tumbuk Ageng ceremony.
