Pramod Thomas
Pramod J. Thomas is an Indian audio engineer and sound designer from Pandalam, Kerala. A graduate of the Film and Television Institute of India, Pune, he has worked across Hindi, Malayalam, Tamil and Marathi cinema since the late 1990s. He is known for his work on films including Rituparno Ghosh's Raincoat, Anurag Kashyap's Dev.D, and Shankar's Enthiran.
He has received national and state-level recognition for his work in sound, including the National Film Award for Best Sound Design for Gandha and the Kerala State Film Award for Best Sound Mixing for Kaadu Pookkunna Neram and Aedan.
Career
After completing his training at the Film and Television Institute of India, Pune, Thomas began working in sound in Indian cinema in the late 1990s. His early work involved production sound and post-production roles across multiple language industries, including Malayalam, Hindi and Tamil cinema.By the mid-2000s, he was contributing to feature films in both mainstream and independent cinema, including Rituparno Ghosh's Raincoat. He later worked on films such as Dev.D and Enthiran. In Malayalam cinema, his work has included films such as Veettilekkulla Vazhi, Kaadu Pookkunna Neram, Rakshadhikari Baiju Oppu and Eeda, where he was involved in sound mixing and sound design.
Alongside feature films, Thomas has continued to work on independent projects and short films, and remains active in Indian cinema in various sound-related roles.
