Plagiodontia
Plagiodontia is a genus of rodent in the subfamily Capromyinae. All known species are endemic to the Caribbean island of Hispaniola.
The genus name Plagiodontia means "oblique tooth", and derives from the two ancient greek words, meaning "placed sideways", and,, meaning "tooth".
