Geography

Pine Canyon is in eastern Monterey County on the southwest side of the Salinas Valley. It is south of King City and less than south of U.S. Route 101, which leads northwest to Salinas, the county seat, and southeast to Paso Robles.

The 2020 United States census reported that Pine Canyon had a population of 1,871. The population density was. The racial makeup of Pine Canyon was 736 White, 8 African American, 97 Native Americans in [the United States|Native American], 16 Asian, 2 Pacific Islander, 549 from other races, and 463 from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 1,207 persons.
The whole population lived in households. There were 575 households, out of which 196 had children under the age of 18 living in them, 332 were married-couple households, 37 were cohabiting couple households, 132 had a female householder with no partner present, and 74 had a male householder with no partner present. 112 households were one person, and 60 were one person aged 65 or older.
