Physics-based model of the Kohonen ring is a scholarly work, published in 1998 in ''Proceedings of SPIE''. The main subjects of the publication include segmentation, image segmentation, maxima and minima, computer science, pattern recognition, self-organizing map, initialization, artificial neural network, and artificial intelligence. The authors introduce a new segmentation technique (called Kohonen snake) based on the neural simulation of deformable models designed to reconstruct 3D objects.
