Phoenix Lake first appeared as a census designated place in the 2010 U.S. census formed from part of deleted Phoenix Lake-Cedar Ridge CDP and part of Mono Vista CDP.The 2020 United States census reported that Phoenix Lake had a population of 4,264. The population density was. The racial makeup of Phoenix Lake was 86.3% White, 0.3% African American, 1.1% Native American, 0.8% Asian, 0.1% Pacific Islander, 1.7% from other races, and 9.7% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 8.3% of the population.
The census reported that 99.8% of the population lived in households, 0.2% lived in non-institutionalized group quarters, and no one was institutionalized.
