Passiflora subg. Astrophea

Passiflora subg. Astrophea is a group of Passiflora species that are lianas, shrubs and trees found in South America.

Taxonomy

It was first published as Passiflora sect. Astrophea by Augustin Pyramus de Candolle in 1822. The lectotype is Passiflora glauca. It was elevated to the subgenus Passiflora subg. Astrophea published by Maxwell T. Masters in 1871.
